You’re probably reading this and wondering “how am I the Boss when I still had to come to this annoying workplace? (depends on how you refer to your workplace if you have a job)” If you were truly the boss, you should be on vacation somewhere around the world you won’t even have to consider your bank account balance to get to, if you were truly the boss, you should not be reporting to any boss; if you were truly the boss, then you shouldn’t be hustling the way you are; if you were the boss, you shouldn’t be in school studying; if you were the boss, you shouldn’t be unable to afford furthering your education; if you were the boss, you shouldn’t be struggling with eating thrice a day talk less of having money in your bank account…the list is endless.
Ironically, the real bosses aren’t always the ones who wear expensive suits, sit on executive chairs, CEOs or everyone else who has the “Boss” title attached to them. We are all bosses, we just don’t realise it yet. If you have a mind of your own, you’re the boss; if you can make your own decisions, you’re the boss, if you can persevere in the face of difficulties, you’re the boss. Still doesn’t make sense? I know it’s easier said than done but if you flashback on issues you’ve dealt with, challenges you’ve overcome, you would agree with me that it wasn’t easy but you were able to scale through still. Why? Because you’re the boss!
Remember that time you had to make a tough decision? A take it or leave it decision. It was tough then but you thought it through and finally decided yeah? And sometimes the decisions you took didn’t produce the kind of result you thought you would get from it, it hurt but you were strong and let go gradually. That’s because you’re a boss. Bosses make tough decisions, sometimes it even affects their relationship with others but they just have to do what they have to do. That’s why we’re superiors no matter how small we may feel sometimes, we’re strong regardless of life challenges, we take charge because if we don’t do it, who will? We make sacrifices no matter what it’ll cost us (sometimes) because as bosses, you just have to do whatever it takes, as long as it’s going to produce the outcome we want.
